WEEK 31

Had a great first week in Presas. Here are some highlights — - NEW AREA My new area is pretty cool. It's super green and has a bunch of animals. It's much more rural than my last area. The people are pretty cool. There are a few who don't like us, but most everyone's super nice. We have also worked super hard and didn't have a lot of success, but I know that we will if we keep working hard. I share a house with another companionship and it's so fun. We always mess around and talk until midnight or one every night, but it's super worth it.  - SATURDAY What a day. Started off as one of the worst days and ended super good. First of all, instead of doing comp study, my comp and I played hacky sack and I nailed my foot on the counter and it hurt so bad. Prolly bad karma for not studying, but it was worth it. Then we went contacting and found a guy who invited us in. He locked the door behind us and wouldn't let us leave until we watched a video with him. It w...

WEEK 30

This week was a lot better than our last few weeks. I think my comp knew I was gonna leave so he was finally willing to work hard. Here are some highlights from the week — - LESSONS  Our lessons were super good. We put two on date for baptism. One is a girl named Daniela. She is the daughter of one of our recent converts. The other is Gabriel and he is the husband of one of our recent converts. They are both super strong in the gospel and Daniela has a really strong testimony. Gabriel has done a few things in his past, but he really wants to change. - PACHUCA Last Monday, we went to President's house as a zone. We had a devotional where we talked about exact obedience and it was super good. We played a few games like volleyball, spike ball and some weird ping pong game. We also had burgers and hotdogs, which were super good. When I was talking to President, I noticed a bunch of smoke in his backyard. When I told him, he said a few words (one of which he shouldn't say). His gril...

WEEK 29

This week, we didn't really do much, but two really cool things happened — THE SLAP The first is I got slapped in the face by a very large woman. After church, we talked to an investigator that showed up at church. We had never met before so I asked her what her name is. She said Lucy. I told her my dog's name is Lucy and she slapped me across the face. Apparently, that's the meanest thing you can say to a Mexican — that your dog has their same name. I don't know know why, cuz it's only a name, but yeah, she slapped me. It didn't hurt, just shocked me. So yeah, if you meet a Mexican who has the same name as your dog, don't tell them. THE BUS DRIVER The other super cool thing that happened is that my bus driver got in a fight. We were driving to Pachuca when our bus pulled over. I was already sitting on the passenger side near the front, so I had a great seat to watch. I looked out the window and saw someone pull his car over, walk out and then shove our bus ...

WEEK 28

Well we didn't do much this week cuz my comp still doesn't like leaving the house, but I've only got 2 weeks left before transfers so it's gonna be alright. Still had some pretty great highlights — - LESSONS Our lessons went super well this week. I don't know what the deal is, but we had 45 lessons scheduled and ended up only having 15 actually happen.  But those were super cool. We put one person on date. Her name is Daniela and she is the daughter of Gonzalo, who we baptized a few months ago. We also want to to put at least one more person on date this week so hopefully that happens. - FOOD The food is always good and is usually the same so I don't got much to talk about here. But I did eat a lady's dog that died and she cooked it for us. She didn't tell us it was her dog until after we finished eating. Also, I ate chicken feet and it was really good. Kinda tough to eat though cuz it has so many bones. It tastes just like a hard boiled egg. Also, I ate...

WEEK 27

Happy 2023! Hope this is your best year yet. Here are some highlights from my week —  - NEW YEAR'S New Year's is a huge thing here. It's a lot bigger than Christmas so everyone was out of their houses until super late. Our neighbors had a party from prolly 8 pm 'til 8 am so we got absolutely zero sleep. But everyone the next day was passed out on the ground — literally any spot they could find — a few on the grass, one on a slide, some in a dumpster. Pretty sad, but I guess they definitely enjoyed their night. - HOUSES We had to move houses which sucked, but our new house is a lot better. It's two stories and we got a normal size fridge and a washing machine — which is the best part. We had to paint our old house which kinda sucked but it was fun cuz we got to do it with our district. - MISSIONARY WORK We haven't really had a lot of work to do. Well, we've done a good amount but definitely can do more. My comp isn't the most motivated or active person so...
