WEEK 30
This week was a lot better than our last few weeks. I think my comp knew I was gonna leave so he was finally willing to work hard. Here are some highlights from the week —
- LESSONS
Our lessons were super good. We put two on date for baptism. One is a girl named Daniela. She is the daughter of one of our recent converts. The other is Gabriel and he is the husband of one of our recent converts. They are both super strong in the gospel and Daniela has a really strong testimony. Gabriel has done a few things in his past, but he really wants to change.

- PACHUCA
Last Monday, we went to President's house as a zone. We had a devotional where we talked about exact obedience and it was super good. We played a few games like volleyball, spike ball and some weird ping pong game. We also had burgers and hotdogs, which were super good. When I was talking to President, I noticed a bunch of smoke in his backyard. When I told him, he said a few words (one of which he shouldn't say). His grill apparently caught on fire and almost blew up.

- AN UNEXPECTED INTERACTION
Also, it seems like something bad happens at least weekly. I was walking to lunch with my comp when a man stopped us. We started talking and he asked us why priests abuse kids. I told him we weren't Catholic and I have no idea. He got super mad and then insisted I was Brazilian. Then he got as close to my face as he could (he was super short) and asked me the same question about the Catholic priests. When I told him I didn't know, he spit in my face. My comp was about to fight him, but I pushed him back and then we just walked away. Luckily there was a store nearby and the lady who owned it had watched the whole interaction. She invited us to come in so I could wash my face. So despite the occasional bad, there are still mostly good people around.

- COUNTRY MUSIC
And for those of you who hate country music, I got a story for you. We were visiting with a convert who asked me what kind of music I liked. When I told her country, she said she hated country music. I showed her the song "Chicken Fried," by the Zac Brown Band, during the lesson and she said she hated it too. Then I got a text a few days later where she confessed that she loved it and cried while listening to it. Now she keeps asking me for more country music recommendations. So the moral of the story is — you gotta give country music a chance.

-TRANSFERS
Also, I got transferred. I'm in an area called Presas and it seems super good. My comp's name is Elder Salvedra and he seems like a super cool guy. Let's hope we can help a lot of people here.
