FIVE MONTHS! I hit my five month mark! Not sure how it was for you, but it went pretty fast for me. Here are some highlights from this week — - BAPTISM We had the baptism of Gonzalo Sanchez this Saturday. It was such a cool experience. He is gonna be such a good member. I could feel the Spirit so strong during the baptism and so could his family. They were all crying like crazy and two of them aren't even members. Afterwards, both of them asked how they could get baptized so not gonna lie, that was pretty clutch. Then on Sunday, during sacrament meeting, they confirmed him. The Elders Quorum President did it. Then during the second hour, Gonzalo received the priesthood. That was such a cool experience — being part of Gonzalo getting baptized, confirmed and ordained within 24 hours. He's gonna be such a good priesthood holder. - THURSDAY This day was fantastic. Studied a bit then went and had two lessons. The sisters are sick so we went and contacted in their area and found some...

Happy Thanksgiving! Eat some turkey for me and I'll eat some tacos for you. Here are some highlights from my week — - FOOD POISONING Like the geniuses we are, we decided to eat Chinese food on Monday. (Yes, this was the Monday after the Sunday we were in bed for most of the day.) What a mistake that was! I was throwing up and on the toilet all of Tuesday and most of Monday. We got food poisoning again, two times in three days. But it's all good cuz I won't eat it anymore.  - INTERCAMBIOS We had intercambios (exchanges) on Tuesday. It was so good. I was comps with Elder Sanchez; he speaks absolutely zero English. It was a good time for me to test out my Spanish. He's super shy so I taught basically all of the lessons and they were really good (I think). And I got to talk Spanish with him all day so that was really helpful. -ZONE CONFERENCE It was so good. It was exactly what I needed. They talked a lot about service and how to teach and the importance of The Book of Morm...

Four months! I've been in Mexico for four months now and it's only getting better. Here are some highlights from the week — - BAPTISM We had a baptism this week. It was so cool. Members of the Laureano family. The mom, Jaohana, and two of her daughters, Belinda and Esther. Such a cool experience. They have had a super hard time lately just with stuff in their life. They stopped coming to church for a few months but then started to come back. Now they are members. - LESSONS Our lessons were so good this week. We put three people on date. The first is Saul and he's super cool. He is your classic guitar street player. It's what he does for his job. The second person is InĂ©s. She has been in Mexico City for a long time. So the first lesson back with her, we put her on date. The last person is Gonzalo and he is something special. His wife is a member who just became active again and he really wants to get baptized. He used to smoke 14 cigarettes a day but he's been clean...

Yep, another round in Tizayuca. Guess I'll be here for another six weeks. Here are the highlights from the week — - TRANSFERS Last week we had transfers. I'm staying with my American comp. In our district, two people left so we have two new people, but they are really cool. They are both Mexican, which should help with my Spanish. Also, our district grew and our zone was cut in half. We now have 10 people in our district and 15 in our zone. - LESSONS We have been having so many lessons which has been really good. We found two people who really want to get baptized so we are going to put them on date at our next lesson with them. We also have three other families or people that are getting close to baptism so let's hope we can put them on date this week. - STAKE CONFERENCE Stake conference was really good. A Seventy came and I was able to talk with him for a while afterwards and he seems like a great guy. Our mission president came and spoke and he made all of the missionari...

TWO milestones this week. I had my 19th birthday AND I hit my four month mark on the same day. Here are some highlights from the week — - BAPTISM We had a baptism for Berenice and it was so cool! Everything went perfect — which was super clutch. You could feel the Spirit so strong. I was able to baptize her too so that was really cool. - MY BIRTHDAY It was a really good day. We started out by making pancakes with cake batter and those were so good. Then I opened up my birthday presents and went to the church to talk to my family. We had a few lessons and then went to eat at a member's house. The Sisters were supposed to meet us there but since they hadn't arrived yet, we went and knocked doors for a bit. But then one neighbor called the cops. So they came and escorted us out, which kinda sucked but also made the day that much more memorable. And don't worry, we went back and ate at Sister Escalante's. She bought a cake for me; it was so good. Then we had a bunch more le...
