WEEK 4

Another great week here in Mexico. Here are the stand outs from it — - THE TEMPLE My district was able to go to the Mexico City temple. This was so cool. The ride there was insane cuz I actually got to see the city. It made me want to be out in the field immediately cuz everyone seems so humble and nice. When we got to the temple, we went into the visitor center for an hour. It was huge and displayed the history of the church in Mexico, so that was fun. We went inside the temple and did an endowment session but it was completely in Spanish. I was pretty lost the whole time, but luckily knew a little bit from having gone before. When we got to the celestial room, it was so cool. I just sat in there for 30 minutes and didn't want to leave at all. On the bus ride home, everyone was tired, so we all just looked out the window in silence. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life. - CLASS Class is super fun cuz my district doesn't know how to shut up; they just make jokes the...

WEEK 3

So I officially left the US and started MTC in Mexico City. Here are the stand outs from my week — - THE FIRST DAY ARRIVING AT THE MTC I flew with 3 other kids. One is going to Pachuca and I sat next to her on the plane so that's cool. Another one played basketball at Arizona before his mission and the last one is a really good piano player. I talked and slept the whole flight and when we arrived, someone accidently took the Sister's bag so we had to wait 3 hours for the person to bring it back. It was a 45 minute drive to the MTC and I've never seen such crazy drivers in my life. I thought we were gonna crash at least 10 times. I sat next to Elder Huish and Elder Shorts, 2 kids from my district. We got there and got our phones and then had to go to a devotional. It was kinda like a play cuz the zone leaders were acting out some scripture heroes. - MY SPANISH My Spanish is not very good at all. All the kids in my district except me and another kid took Spanish in high schoo...

WEEK 2

This was my last week of Home MTC! My next adventure awaits. Here are some highlights from the week﹣ - Celebrated the 4th of July with family and friends. I only had MTC for half of the day so I was able to join in on all of the 4th of July festivities. Ate some good barbecue with my family and watched fireworks from the top of a parking structure with siblings and friends. - I'm understanding Spanish a little better. Still can't speak it so me and another elder continue to get picked on by the instructors haha. But our new instructor gives us 10 minute breaks﹣which is way nice. And in our Spanish breakout rooms, I always get paired up with the only other elder who never took Spanish and Hermana Webb﹣who has become our Spanish tutor. - My grandma had us over for a pancake lunch this week. She seriously makes the best pancakes in the world.  - Had my farewell party. Thank you to everyone who came out to support me and say goodbye.   - Ate my favorite meals every night and ...

WEEK 1

So I'm officially a missionary and I started Home MTC! Here are some things that have stood out from the week - - BEING ABLE TO SLEEP I have never loved sleep so much in my life! So far, every night I've fallen asleep in seconds cuz my brain hurts and I don't want to think anymore. - STARTING MTC, MEETING MY COMPANION, MEETING MY DISTRICT When I first saw the pictures and names of everyone in my district, I didn't know what to expect. But after meeting them, I can say each one of them is amazing. They all have a great sense of humor and we all like to mess with our teachers. We laugh A LOT because we can't understand our teachers half of the time. One is from Mexico and his English is pretty good, but our other teacher is from Haiti and his English is harder to understand than his Spanish. Half of the time on zoom, everyone sits there waiting for someone else to respond because no one knows what to say or do. By the end of the week, we were getting pretty good at gu...
