WEEK 3

So I officially left the US and started MTC in Mexico City. Here are the stand outs from my week —

- THE FIRST DAY ARRIVING AT THE MTC
I flew with 3 other kids. One is going to Pachuca and I sat next to her on the plane so that's cool. Another one played basketball at Arizona before his mission and the last one is a really good piano player. I talked and slept the whole flight and when we arrived, someone accidently took the Sister's bag so we had to wait 3 hours for the person to bring it back. It was a 45 minute drive to the MTC and I've never seen such crazy drivers in my life. I thought we were gonna crash at least 10 times. I sat next to Elder Huish and Elder Shorts, 2 kids from my district. We got there and got our phones and then had to go to a devotional. It was kinda like a play cuz the zone leaders were acting out some scripture heroes.

- MY SPANISH
My Spanish is not very good at all. All the kids in my district except me and another kid took Spanish in high school so it's hard to not compare myself with them and get discouraged. I can understand what everyone is saying in Spanish, I just can't come up with the words to say back but my Spanish is definitely getting a lot better.

- THE FOOD
The food is actually a lot better than I thought it was gonna be. They have unlimited salads but the Ranch tastes like crap so I never eat it. They also have unlimited cereal like frosted flakes, fruit loops, and chocolate rice krispies. Usually every meal I can find one or two things that are good. But I've had to be a lot less picky. The best meals so far are prolly teriyaki chicken, BLT, hot dogs, tortilla soup, or beef stroganoff. They usually have dessert every day and it's usually like a year old but it still tastes better than anything cuz it was actually made in America.

- MY COMPANION
My companion is really cool and has the strongest testimony I have ever seen. He has helped me grow my testimony so much and I learn so many new things about the gospel from him. He is also a super big rule follower so that helps me. He makes sure we always do comp study which is doing the same thing on repeat everyday cuz he thinks he doesn't know enough about how to teach someone (we are studying out of Preach My Gospel) but it has also helped me learn a lot.

- MY DISTRICT
My district is the reason I am really enjoying the MTC right now. They know how to have a really good time but also how to focus and feel the Spirit. We have district devotional every night and I've never felt the Spirit so strong. We have a few kids who are really loud and really funny. One of them, named Elder Kramer, makes me laugh no matter what he says. He also looks like Ron from Harry Potter so a bunch of people ask to take pictures with him.

Hope your week was as good as mine!
