WEEK 1
So I'm officially a missionary and I started Home MTC! Here are some things that have stood out from the week -
- BEING ABLE TO SLEEP
I have never loved sleep so much in my life! So far, every night I've fallen asleep in seconds cuz my brain hurts and I don't want to think anymore.

- STARTING MTC, MEETING MY COMPANION, MEETING MY DISTRICT
When I first saw the pictures and names of everyone in my district, I didn't know what to expect. But after meeting them, I can say each one of them is amazing. They all have a great sense of humor and we all like to mess with our teachers. We laugh A LOT because we can't understand our teachers half of the time. One is from Mexico and his English is pretty good, but our other teacher is from Haiti and his English is harder to understand than his Spanish. Half of the time on zoom, everyone sits there waiting for someone else to respond because no one knows what to say or do. By the end of the week, we were getting pretty good at guessing what our teachers were saying. Next week, we get a new teacher so I hope he speaks better English.

- TRYING TO LEARN ENGLISH EVEN THOUGH IT'S IMPOSSIBLE
I don't know how people are bilingual, but I have a new found respect for anyone who is able to speak both English and Spanish. At the beginning of the week, I knew almost no Spanish whatsoever. What made it worse is that everyone but one other kid in my district had taken Spanish, so my teachers only picked on us. But that also helped cuz it forced me to learn it faster. By the end of the week, I started to understand Spanish better, but I am no where near close to being able to speak it.

- FINALLY GETTING TO HANG OUT WITH MY FAMILY AFTER 10 HOURS OF ZOOM
This week was easily one of the best but also one of the most boring weeks of my life. Every day felt like a year-long because we were on zoom. The first few hours were fine, but anything after that felt 100 times longer than it was. My instructors only spoke Spanish for the first few days so I had no clue what was going on the entire 10 hours﹣which made it feel even longer. But when I got off it was so nice. I never realized how nice it is to be able to hang out with my family and do what I want until I had to sit in front of a screen for 10 hours.

- CATCHING UP ON ALL THE MOVIES I DIDN'T SEE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER
All of my friends make fun of me for having never seen "good" movies as a kid, so in my free time, I've started to catch up on them. They are definitely overrated and movies still aren't my favorite thing, but when you have no energy to do anything else, it's pretty convenient. We watched Luca, 2 different Ice Ages, Bad Guys and Chip & Dale (which was actually pretty good).
