WEEK 61

These past couple of weeks have been really good. Here are the highlights — - SERVICE We did a bunch of service last week. One of the things we did was break huge rocks with a sledgehammer. Since I am always the biggest person in the room, I was elected do the honors. It was legit so tiring. For like two hours, I just swung at rocks and by the end, I couldn't even lift my arms. We had to break them so that the next step could happen — other people could gather the broken pieces and fill holes where posts would be placed and cement would then be poured. After I had been working for a while, someone gave me a pair of glasses. That turned out to be a huge blessing because the next time I took a swing, a huge chunk of rock came shooting at my eye. Would've hit it for sure if I wasn't wearing the glasses.  We also helped a girl move her house. She had a 3 story house and only my comp and I showed up!! It took like two and a half hours to move everything and it absolutely sucked....

WEEK 59

This week was a really good week. It was pretty crazy. Here are the highlights — - SERVICE We did some service this week. We had to help a girl in our ward weed out her cornfields. They were the biggest weeds I've ever seen. They were like 2 or 3 feet taller than me. We were there for 3 hours with about 15 other members of our ward and only finished about ¼ of her field. So we are going back this Tuesday. - TIANGUIS Every Wednesday, there is a huge swap meet, or tianguis, in Actopan!! It's literally a few miles long. This past Wednesday it was pouring and then it started hailing. We were in a combi at the time it all started and my comp felt impressed to get out before we got to our stop. So we get out and start walking up the tianguis. By then, the water was up to my knees and the water and hail had basically destroyed all the shops. The street was angled downhill so when the rain came, it swept everything away in its path.  There was a ton of miscellaneous items floating down...

WEEK 58

This week was super good. Here are the highlights — - BAPTISM We had the baptism of Denzel!!! It was such a cool experience. His whole family was there and by the end of it, his mom and sisters (who aren't members) were crying. The spirit was so strong. Afterwards, his uncle took us to a pretty fancy restaurant!! This is the first restaurant that reminded me of home. It was so good. While I was there sitting and visiting with Denzel and his family, three guys came up and asked if they could talk to me. They wanted to practice their English so I agreed. When we finished talking, they asked if I would go out with any of the three of them. What?!! I told them I wasn't gay and walked away. Other than that, the baptism of Denzel was a really cool experience. - SERVICE We had a bunch of service this week. We helped our bishop put in a new walkway. Then he taught me a lot about car mechanics. We helped him clean a bunch of car parts then put them back into the car. It was pretty cool....

WEEK 57

This week was really good. We didn't really have anything special, but here are some highlights — - WORK We've been working really hard and now we're seeing a lot of success. We have a baptism this week for a guy named Denzel. He wants to serve a mission so after his baptism, we are gonna start working on that with him. And then we are hoping to put another friend on date this week. I now have seven months in one area. It's kinda hard because I feel like I've been with the same people for so long. But I know it will all work out.  - BAD LUCK This week I had the worst luck. On Tuesday, it started pouring so hard and we were super far away from the house. That's when I realized I had a hole in the bottom of my shoe. So that absolutely sucked cuz my socks were soaking wet the whole day. Then the next day, we were walking and a freaking bird crapped on me. Luckily it didn't land on my head, but it still sucked. Then the next day, it started pouring again. I was ...
