WEEK 58
This week was super good. Here are the highlights —
- BAPTISM
We had the baptism of Denzel!!! It was such a cool experience. His whole family was there and by the end of it, his mom and sisters (who aren't members) were crying. The spirit was so strong. Afterwards, his uncle took us to a pretty fancy restaurant!! This is the first restaurant that reminded me of home. It was so good. While I was there sitting and visiting with Denzel and his family, three guys came up and asked if they could talk to me. They wanted to practice their English so I agreed. When we finished talking, they asked if I would go out with any of the three of them. What?!! I told them I wasn't gay and walked away. Other than that, the baptism of Denzel was a really cool experience.

- SERVICE
We had a bunch of service this week. We helped our bishop put in a new walkway. Then he taught me a lot about car mechanics. We helped him clean a bunch of car parts then put them back into the car. It was pretty cool. Then the next day, we went and helped a sister build a fence. But it was pouring buckets and there was hail and it was huge. After about two hours in the pouring rain, we finished and my hands hurt like crazy from all the blisters I got.

- CAR CRASH
Last Monday, I was talking to my family on the phone when I heard a huge crash outside of the church. I didn't know exactly what it was but then someone came running into the building asking for help so I got off the phone immediately and ran outside. Apparently, one car hit a stopped car and that stopped car hit a biker. I ran over and it looked like the car's driver had broken his leg so I pulled him out of the car and helped him onto the grass. He started shaking in shock. The biker wasn't too badly hurt, just super mad. I talked to him a little bit to help him. The whole thing was pretty scary but I was glad I was there because the stupid police in Mexico know absolutely nothing and didn't get there for another 45 minutes.

- 10TH ANIVERSARIO OF THE MEXICO PACHUCA MISSION
On Sunday, our stake celebrated the 10th anniversary of our mission. It was super cool and the spirit was so strong. We got to sing with the youth and listened to a few speakers share their conversion stories. It was nice to see our President, his wife, and the assistants.

- SQUASH
Today for p-day, we played something called squash. It's like racquetball but harder cuz the ball doesn't really bounce. We were invited to play by a member whose team is #1 in the state and he's ranked #2 as an individual. He absolutely smoked me the first time, but the more we played, the closer the scores got. Next week, I'm going to win. He actually pissed me off cuz he's this overweight guy who just stands in the middle of the court and doesn't move his feet; he just knows how to play and where to hit the ball so he had me running all over the whole court. I don't think he moved over an inch. But that's okay, I pissed him off cuz I was playing right-handed and then when he hit the ball to my left, I just switched the racquet to my left hand. He got upset cuz apparently, that's not how you play. But that's how I play cuz I'm left-handed. But it was really fun and it was the first time since I've been in Mexico that I could actually try hard without destroying everyone.
