WEEK 35

Image
8 MONTHS!!! One third into my mission.  And bonus...this week was 100 X better than last week. Here are some highlights — - NEW PEOPLE We found three new families this week who are super ready to get baptized. One family wants us to set a date but they got a cranky old Mexican grandma they're living with who won't let them, so we just gotta wait for them to find their own house and then we can baptize them. The other two families were references from a member and they are super prepared to listen. They told us they are ready to get baptized and we haven't even had a lesson with either family, just a family home evening. - INTERCAMBIOS We had intercambios (exchanges) this week and they were really good. The elder that I had intercambios with said that my comp and I weren't working hard enough (he said that's why we had a rough one last week) so I worked him super hard during intercambios. He said he likes how hard I work but never wants to be my comp cuz he thought h...

WEEK 34

We are definitely putting in the miles here in Actopan and getting very well acquainted with the area. Here's how are week went —  - THIS WEEK Alright. I'm gonna be completely honest. This week was absolute crap. We worked our butts off and were literally 100% obedient, with little results. But I guess sometimes life gets rough. On Monday, we had 43 lessons scheduled for the week and by the end of the week we had only given 5 lessons. No one wanted to hear us which lowkey hurts. And to make things even worse, Sunday was awful. - SUNDAY No friends showed up at church and then we went and found a family of 7! Excellent! And then they fed us. Bruh, it was prolly the worst food I've eaten here. It was cow skin soup but the skin still had hair on it. It shouldn't even count as food but it's Mexico so you can pretty much call whatever you want food. And it was freakin' spicy; I still can't taste. Then after, I gotta talk to my fam and that was cool. My parents are...

WEEK 33

Had a crazy good week. Here are some of the highlights — - WORKING We worked our butts off this week. Literally. We've been working from 10 am to 9 pm everyday. It feels super good. Our area is huge so it feels like we spend half of the time traveling, which really sucks. I'm hoping for another companionship to come here so we can split the area. - MY COMPANION My comp is really cool. He literally likes everything. He loves sports and the outdoors but also computers and anime. We talk about the most random stuff, but it's super fun. And we get along well. We go to bed pretty late each night cuz we're just talking in our beds. -BAPTISM We had a baptism last Saturday. The name of the woman is Yeyetzi and she's 25. It was so cool — there was prolly 35-50 people there from our ward. This ward is super cool cuz they love all of the people we introduce to them. All of Yeyetzi's family are members and now she is. I was able to confirm her on Sunday and that was a super...

WEEK 32

Well this week was really weird — On Monday, we put a family of four on date for baptism and that was super cool. February 25th. They love the gospel and are progressing a lot. Tuesday and Wednesday, we worked hard and found a ton of people with massive potential. But then Wednesday night, we got a call from President saying they needed to make an emergency transfer. He said there was a problem with another companionship and I was the solution. So Thursday morning, we drove to another area and switched comps, so now I'm in an area called Actopan. It's super cool. Basically has lots of similarities to Tizayuca (my first area), only we're north of Pachuca, not south. There is a ton of work here and in the upcoming months, they will be opening 1 ward, 2 branches and 3 groups — so it should be good. We share the ward with 2 other companionships of elders so it's always a good time. One funny story cuz I always gotta have at least one. On Wednesday, we were walking past a fa...
