WEEK 17

Alright, this week was so average. We didn't really do much, but here are some of the highlights — - LESSONS The lessons were actually pretty good. We got one of our investigators ready for her baptism that is this Friday. We also put five other people on date. Four are from one family and the other is their friend. The mom and dad are on date and two of their daughters. Also, we found a family who is really special. The mom and three of her kids were walking around with a snow cone cart so (you know me) I had to buy one and now we are teaching the whole family. The mom has nine kids ages 11 months - 21 and the dad died last month. They are a very special family. - INTERVIEWS Tuesday was a long day. We had district council and President and both assistants came. We had a lesson then contacted. Then we went with our whole zone to eat tortas and then came back to the church to have interviews. My interview was supposed to be at 3:50 but I didn't have one until 8:15. I had to wait...

WEEK 16

It was another eventful week in Pachuca. Here are some of the highlights — - TUESDAY Tuesday we had a service project. We finished cleaning out the yard that we started a couple of weeks ago. The weeds were so much harder to pull this time so we were able to get a weed wacker and put metal springs in it. My comp was using it the whole time so I got creative and played some baseball. I found a mini bat and a tree with a bunch of small fruits. It was perfect. But then one of the sisters went all mom mode on me and got mad cuz I was being irresponsible so that kinda sucked. - THURSDAY Thursday was easily the hardest day of my mission. I don't know why, but it was so hard. My Spanish was so bad and I was just getting super frustrated. But at the end of the night, Tate sent me a video of our dog, Lucy, and that helped a lot. - FRIDAY Friday we had zone conference and it was fantastic. We got there early and helped set up. They taught exactly what I needed to hear and I actually got to t...

WEEK 15

It's been another great week in Mexico. Here are some of the highlights — - CAMBIOS Intercambios was so much fun. Elder Acevedo is easily the funniest guy I've ever met besides Tate and Tyler. After district council, I went with him and we ate at a member's house. We had this thing called flaun and it's basically jello and pudding combined into one but it's super cinnamony. After eating, we had tons of lessons. The next day, we had cereal for breakfast and then did a bunch of studying. Then we went out and had tons of lessons and found a bunch of people. We also met this dude who wanted to argue with us and we kept trying to leave and eventually we did and he just started yelling cuss words in Spanish (reminded me of soccer back home). That night, we got dinner and it was so good. We had burritos and fries with ketchup, hot sauce and melted cheese. When we were resting after our meal, Elder (Sawyer) Tengberg called and said he practically had to break up with this f...

WEEK 14

I reached a milestone this week...3 months as a missionary. Here are some of the highlights —  - SERVICE This week we had another service project. This lady wants to start a garden in her backyard, but first we needed to clean it out. It had bushes and long grass covering the entire space. Also, there were probably 1000 grasshoppers. Every plant or blade of grass we pulled had at least a few on them. There were tons of spiders and other insects. We spent two hours just pulling bushes and grass and got about ¾ of the way done with her backyard. We are going back on Tuesday to finish the backyard and to do the front yard. After we were done, we stayed for lunch and the lady gave us soggy pig skin to eat. The sisters hated it. I wasn't a fan either but the sisters would just throw their food onto our plates when the lady wasn't looking so we ended up having to eat far more than our share. - GENERAL CONFERENCE General conference was so good this week. I couldn't understand all ...
