WEEK 14
I reached a milestone this week...3 months as a missionary. Here are some of the highlights —
- SERVICE
This week we had another service project. This lady wants to start a garden in her backyard, but first we needed to clean it out. It had bushes and long grass covering the entire space. Also, there were probably 1000 grasshoppers. Every plant or blade of grass we pulled had at least a few on them. There were tons of spiders and other insects. We spent two hours just pulling bushes and grass and got about ¾ of the way done with her backyard. We are going back on Tuesday to finish the backyard and to do the front yard. After we were done, we stayed for lunch and the lady gave us soggy pig skin to eat. The sisters hated it. I wasn't a fan either but the sisters would just throw their food onto our plates when the lady wasn't looking so we ended up having to eat far more than our share.

- GENERAL CONFERENCE
General conference was so good this week. I couldn't understand all of it which I actually kinda liked more because then more thoughts were coming into my head that I needed. We went to the church for all five sessions. It was just us missionaries watching the Saturday sessions — which was really fun. We watched in the chapel and then the zone leaders watched the English version in the computer room. I was tempted to go in there but I ended up staying in the chapel for Spanish. On Sunday, a lot of the wards came and we even had investigators come — which was cool. And also... THERE'S A NEW TEMPLE COMING TO PACHUCA!!! When it was announced, everyone screamed and started crying because that's what they've all been praying for this past year.

- TEACHING
We found a lot more people to teach this week. On Tuesday, we cleaned out our area book which has all the investigators' names and all the details about them. This meant we needed to find a bunch more people to put in. We found so many people and also got a girl on date for October 22. She is a single mom and her husband left her cuz she got pregnant and he didn't want a kid. She also has an inactive neighbor who we are trying to activate by having her help us with this girl.

Scripture for the week —
D&C 121:7-8
"My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
"My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high, thou shalt triumph over all thy foes."
Hope your week was as good as mine!
