WEEK 15
It's been another great week in Mexico. Here are some of the highlights —
- CAMBIOS
Intercambios was so much fun. Elder Acevedo is easily the funniest guy I've ever met besides Tate and Tyler. After district council, I went with him and we ate at a member's house. We had this thing called flaun and it's basically jello and pudding combined into one but it's super cinnamony. After eating, we had tons of lessons. The next day, we had cereal for breakfast and then did a bunch of studying. Then we went out and had tons of lessons and found a bunch of people. We also met this dude who wanted to argue with us and we kept trying to leave and eventually we did and he just started yelling cuss words in Spanish (reminded me of soccer back home). That night, we got dinner and it was so good. We had burritos and fries with ketchup, hot sauce and melted cheese. When we were resting after our meal, Elder (Sawyer) Tengberg called and said he practically had to break up with this female member and then beg her to let them come back. It was legit the best part of my day cuz he's super dramatic about everything.
This week we saw so many miracles. Wednesday, when I was with Elder Acevedo for intercambios, we had two lessons that cancelled back to back. Because we had already gone all the way there, we decided to knock doors. We got five new people in one hour which is so cool.
Thursday, Elder Berquist and I wanted to stop by an inactive's house. The security guard wouldn't let us through the gate so we went knocking instead. But we felt like we needed to go back. Right when we got there, a girl started her shift working at the gate. She said she really wanted to learn about our church so she let us in and we also got a new person to teach. Then on the way home that day, a girl comes up to us and says she's been inactive for five years but wants to start coming again.
On Saturday, the same thing happened. We couldn't get into a complex so we decided to start knocking again. But before we even started, a lady came sprinting up to us from legit 100 yards away and said she wanted to be taught by the missionaries. She also came to church — which is dope. And on Sunday, another family we dropped three weeks ago and haven't talked to since just showed up at church yesterday. Miracles!
Scripture of the week (I'm starting the Book of Mormon over again so I read this verse this morning) —
1 Nephi 3:7 — "And it came to pass that I Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them."
Hope your week was as good as mine!
Love and miss you all like crazy!
- Elder Fuller
A little shout out to my brother, Tate, who destroyed in Super Mario.
Lifehack — Wear an apron while you eat. That way you won't stain your tie.
(I legit have ruined three ties already from spilling on them)
Corndog!
Legit — one of the best desserts you will ever eat. It's a Snickers wrapped in the same shell as a corndog then deep fried and then drizzled with sweetened condensed milk. Yum!
Our mid-morning snack — grasshoppers with lime and hot sauce. SO good.
