WEEK 95

Alright, it's been a while since I've written. But here are some of the latest highlights —

- LEADERSHIP MEETING
We had a leadership meeting with all of the zone leaders and sister training leaders. It was super cool to see a bunch of other missionaries that I hadn't seen in a while. There were a bunch of good presentations but the one I liked the most talked about how we need to lead by example. We can't tell people what to do if we haven't already done it or aren't willing to do it with them. We also had some super good tacos. Normally Hermana Wright makes food, but she had to go home for a few weeks, so they ordered tacos, and it was such a blessing. 

- ZONE CONFERENCE
We also had zone conference! It was cool cuz I got to see a few missionaries give their last testimony. It's insane how fast the time goes! Like 3 or 4 of them have been in my district the past few months and now I'm seeing all of them go home! There were a few good presentations that were really good. One talked about being a true disciple of Jesus Christ and how it is a lifelong process. It definitely puts into perspective a lot of the things I've learned on the mission.

- EXCHANGES
I actually got transferred again! I'm now in an area called Zacualtipan! It's literally in the middle of nowhere, just up in the mountains. And my ultimate dream came true — I get to train! I don't have to be a zone leader or district leader! It's easily the greatest blessing I've seen on my mission. My comps name is Elder Reed, and he's from Texas. He's like 6'4" — which is weird, cuz I've never had a comp taller than me. Our area literally has nothing! Like there's no one here and it's so peaceful and prolly the best way I could ended my mission.

- STAKE CONFERENCE
This week we had stake conference. It wasn't actually stake conference cuz we're not actually a stake. We're a group and we got like 20 active members, and there's another branch 1½ hours away and both of us are part of the stake. So we had a conference with our group and the other branch. Presidente came and gave a nice talk! We didn't have a lot of speakers but after, we had a lunch and it was so good. We just had a bunch of sandwiches and I prolly ate like 8. I hadn't had food like that in so long, so it tasted so good.

WEEK 96

Alright, Imma start this week off complaining and then I'll get to the good parts — - WATER, POWER & GAS Monday-Wednesday, we had absolutely no water in our house. We had to shower with water bottles and honestly, it felt pretty weird. Once we finally got water, then we lost gas. It's so freakin' cold here in the mornings and it was so much worse with freezing cold water. Luckily by Friday, we had gas. On Thursday, we lost power, so we went without any electricity for 2 days and it kinda sucked cuz there was no where to charge our phones. Then on Saturday and Sunday, we got to watch general conference. We don't have a church here so one sister gave us her tv and another, their computer. We used our hot spot to put on general conference and right after the last session, we lost the last bit of our data. We used so much data streaming general conference and now we got no data for 2 more weeks. There's not a single member here with wifi so now we gotta go 2 weeks w...

WEEK 14

I reached a milestone this week...3 months as a missionary. Here are some of the highlights —  - SERVICE This week we had another service project. This lady wants to start a garden in her backyard, but first we needed to clean it out. It had bushes and long grass covering the entire space. Also, there were probably 1000 grasshoppers. Every plant or blade of grass we pulled had at least a few on them. There were tons of spiders and other insects. We spent two hours just pulling bushes and grass and got about ¾ of the way done with her backyard. We are going back on Tuesday to finish the backyard and to do the front yard. After we were done, we stayed for lunch and the lady gave us soggy pig skin to eat. The sisters hated it. I wasn't a fan either but the sisters would just throw their food onto our plates when the lady wasn't looking so we ended up having to eat far more than our share. - GENERAL CONFERENCE General conference was so good this week. WEEK 84

Alright, this week was insane. Here are the highlights — - WEDDING On Friday, we went to Mexico City! We had two families that were gonna get baptized on Saturday, but they had to get married first. We went with the sister training leaders and got there at like 7:30 am. We had like 3 hours to wait so we went and bought some breakfast and then just walked around the city. By the time the weddings came, it was super easy. We first married Carlos and his wife and then Elizabeth and her husband. We went back home with Elizabeth and her family cuz they know Mexico City really well. It turns out though that we took the long way home. We first took a bus ride for like 1 ½ hours and on the bus ride, I had like 2 people try to rob me. Then we got off the bus in Tepito, which is prolly one of the most dangerous cities in all of Mexico! Missionaries aren't allowed there which prolly explains why everyone was just staring at me.
