WEEK 47
This week was REALLY good!!! Here are the highlights —
- SUNDAY
Sunday was a super special day!! In one pueblo, in an area called Teofani, we started a group. It's like a branch but smaller. The area seventy, Hugo Montoya, came with his wife and daughter. The stake president, two mission presidents and someone from church history came too. It was a historic day. It was a super cool experience and after, we got to go to a member's house and munch.

- BALLET
I also went to a ballet. One family we are teaching has a daughter who does ballet. In their pueblo, they were having a fair and her ballet class was performing. After we finished the lesson, they invited us to go. I'm expecting something like The Nutcracker that I saw on my 4th grade field trip. I was WAY off. When we got there, they were all wearing super skimpy bikinis and dancing to American pop music. They were a bunch of songs I remembered from home, but it was so weird. It was like Jennifer Lopez in the super bowl halftime show a few years ago. I asked the mom if this was "ballet" and she said yes, but just a different type. We stayed for like three songs then dipped.

- COMBI DRIVE
Also, one day we were driving in a combi and we passed by a junior high just as it was getting out. One of the students, a young girl, got into the front seat of a combi and lit up a cigarette. When we drove by, one of the passengers in our combi, an older gentleman, smacked the young girls hand which sent the cigarette flying to the ground. He just shook his head and loudly said something about how kids these days should not be smoking. Then immediately after, he pulled out a cigarette and started smoking. My comp and I tried to hold back the laughter appreciating the shock of what just happened.

- CAR RIDE
Also, I met the coolest person here in Mexico. We were waiting for a combi with six other elders when a member passed by. He offered to give us a ride and we accepted and all got in the car. It was a 5-seater so three of us (the biggest ones) had to ride in the trunk. He is from Arizona and hates driving in Mexico — at least that's what he told us. But instead of going with the flow of traffic, he started weaving in and out of oncoming traffic on the other side of the road, swerving through the cars that were coming towards us. And the best part was that he was going 105 mph the whole time.

Anyways, I hope your week was as good as mine!
Love you all!!
