WEEK 48

Hit 11 months this past week. Nothing big really happened but here are the highlights — - AMIGOS We found a whole bunch of new people this week. It was super nice since we split our area and all of our baptismal dates were part of the area given to the sisters. But this week, we found a bunch of new people. Two families both said they want to get baptized, but we gotta wait and see if they actually want to come to church and do the things they need to in order to get baptized. - SERVICE We helped a girl clean up her yard. She has a huge dirt lot and had TONS of stuff. We spent a good three hours cleaning and moving it. There was a huge metal TV and everyone nominated me to move it. When I went to pick it up, I sliced my whole finger — from the top to the bottom. There was blood pouring everywhere and my whole hand was covered in blood. One of the sisters threw up when she saw my hand and another one started crying. But after like five minutes, it stopped gushing blood and I was fine. I...

WEEK 47

This week was REALLY good!!! Here are the highlights — - SUNDAY Sunday was a super special day!! In one pueblo, in an area called Teofani, we started a group. It's like a branch but smaller. The area seventy, Hugo Montoya, came with his wife and daughter. The stake president, two mission presidents and someone from church history came too. It was a historic day. It was a super cool experience and after, we got to go to a member's house and munch. - BALLET I also went to a ballet. One family we are teaching has a daughter who does ballet. In their pueblo, they were having a fair and her ballet class was performing. After we finished the lesson, they invited us to go. I'm expecting  something like The Nutcracker that I saw on my 4th grade field trip. I was WAY off. When we got there, they were all wearing super skimpy bikinis and dancing to American pop music. They were a bunch of songs I remembered from home, but it was so weird. It was like Jennifer Lopez in the super bowl ...

WEEK 46

This week was a pretty good week! Not much happened but here are the highlights —  - FRIENDS We are basically starting over cuz they divided our ward and now our friends won't be attending our ward. So now we gotta find new people to teach. It kinda stinks but at the same time it's kinda nice to start fresh. - DRUNK BOYFRIEND So we were teaching this girl with a two-year-old son who works at a little store that only sells alcohol. We were on our way to teach her when her boyfriend pulls up with a few of his friends. When we walked up to say hi, the son came running up. The boyfriend thought the boy was running to him, but then he passed right by the boyfriend and ran up to me. The boyfriend got really mad and started to argue with his girlfriend. After a good minute, he became so upset, he left her and started walking towards me, wanting to fight me. His friends pulled him back and took him to the car and left. But I'm not gonna lie, I would have easily won if anything happ...

WEEK 45

This week was pretty low key. We didn't do a lot but it was pretty fun. Here are some highlights — - INTERCAMBIOS I had intercambios with one of the companionships that were struggling. It was so much fun. We put someone on date and got 3 other new people to come to church. The Elder also had a crazy embarrassing moment, but I promised him that I wouldn't share the details. Just know that every time I think of the incident now, I laugh at loud. - NEW WARD Our ward was split! It's so cool to see the church growing. We had 220 people attend for 4 Sundays in a row. But now, we've got to cover both wards, a branch, and a group. Not sure what I'm supposed to do with that, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. - NEW HOUSE We also have to move houses cuz they made a rule in Mexico that there's only one companionship per house. Now I got so much respect for my parents who moved us a bunch. Idk how they did it. But we finally found a house after looking a bunch. The b...

WEEK 44

10 MONTHS!!! And bonus — last week was a great week. Here are some highlights — - THE CHASE Some guy snagged a cop car and sped away. There were a whole bunch of cop cars chasing after him. About every hundred yards, on Mexican streets, they have speed bumps — so this car booked it down the flat parts of the road and then went flying off the speed bumps. It was quite a show. Not sure how it ended because eventually the car went onto the other side of the road and drove out of our sight. It was crazy!  - PDAY This p-day was super fun. All the youth in our ward had the day off so six of us elders went and played some basketball and soccer with them. It felt good to compete and be physical again. It's been so long. - THE DISTRICT For whatever reason, I have the world's hardest district. We always have problems. One night, I called a companionship of sisters to check on them. They had to call me back because they were talking with a sister in the ward. Her husband had been ab...
