WEEK 39

Hit 9 months this week! This past week was really good. We worked super hard and saw a lot of miracles. Our people are progressing so much and we're hoping to have some baptisms this next month. Here are some highlights from the week  - ZONE CONFERENCE We had zone conference on Thursday. It was great to see all of the elders again. All of the elders I know are starting to go home which sucks cuz I usually just talk to them but by August, all of the older elders will be gone. I'll be like the 6th or 7th oldest elder in the mission. I guess I gotta start getting to know the younger elders. But I learned a lot at our conference and it gave me a greater desire to work. - MISSION FIRESIDE We also had a fireside for our stake. All of the missionaries in our zone went and some of them had to help out in a Q&A. Our president and his wife were there too, so it was fun to see them again. We also sang for a musical number. But the best part was after — when I was talking to a kid abou...

WEEK 38

This was a really good week with some super cool experiences. Here are the highlights — - TEACHING We have a lot of people progressing. Four families and two single moms — all with the desire to be baptized.   - GROUP MEETING The best part of this week was definitely our first group meeting in Teofani. A group is just a smaller branch. At transfers, our ward was divided and then two groups were created in addition to the split. Since members in Teofani have to drive 45 minutes to church, this was a huge blessing. It was such a spiritual experience. I got to bless the sacrament, give a talk and teach Sunday School. Afterwards, we went and ate at a sister's house and it was absolute gas. We had barbacoa and grilled chicken. Also, for the first time on my mission, they made mac and cheese. - Alright I got one cool experience We were walking through some fields — so there was nothing around. And all of a sudden, it started to downpour and we got absolutely soaked. Then we hea...

WEEK 37

First week into transfers. Pretty great week. Here are some highlights — - THE PEOPLE Our area was divided and another companionship was assigned here. Unfortunately, the three people we had on date for baptism are in the other companionship's area now, but it's all good.  We got some people progressing. We are actually teaching three families, so that's really cool. None of them have dads which is actually pretty tough for them, but I guess that's just how it is in Mexico. We also got a few other individuals that are progressing super fast so that always makes the work feel more fulfilling. - LATE NIGHT DETOUR So we are teaching a girl named Sahari. All of her family are members except her. Not sure why she isn't baptized cuz she has a testimony and comes to church every week. On Thursday, we visited her and again, she didn't want to get baptized. We left kinda frustrated and then went to a few more lessons. Around 9:30, we got a ride home from some members. As...

WEEK 36

Hey all! We've been crazy busy here in Actopan. There's so much work to be done. Last I checked, we walked fifteen miles a day so we can share the gospel message with as many people as we can. Here are some highlights from my week — - HOME EVENING We have 3 FHE's every week and they're super fun. This week we had a lot of people show up, so that was really cool. We usually have a few activities there. One activity we did is where someone has to be blindfolded and walk through chairs with the help of another person — demonstrating how to have faith. An old lady volunteered to do it, but when she took off the blindfold, she got super dizzy and passed out. Luckily our primary president was there and caught her. But all the little kids were dying laughing. - FRIENDS We have a ton of people progressing. Our friend, Shalom, was unfortunately hiding everything from her parents. When they found her Book of Mormon, they threatened to kick her out. But she still wants to learn. W...
