WEEK 26

¡Feliz Navidad! ¡Feliz Año Nuevo! Hope you all had an amazing Christmas. I definitely did. Here are some highlights from my week leading up to it ‒ - ZONE CONFERENCE Zone conference was super cool. We left at like 8 and got there by 9. Then each district had to decorate a window so everyone was doing that for about an hour. Then we were taught a few lessons and they were so good. I learned so much. Afterwards, we had a Christmas program and me and 3 other guys had to sing. It was awful; you could just see the Spirit run out the door. But then people who can actually sing sang after us and it was a lot better. Then we did piñatas and I almost got killed. This girl was swinging a metal pipe and it snapped in half and went projectile and skinned my face. After we did a gift exchange and I got a tie, shirt, socks and chocolate. Then we did this trivia game and I got dark chocolate as a prize so obviously I gave it away. Then they judged the windows and we got second, which isn't bad cu...

WEEK 25

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you are all enjoying the sights and spirit of the season. Here are some of the highlights from my week — - COMPANION My new comp, Elder Guzman, is super cool. He only speaks Spanish which is super good for me. We get along super well most of the time. He isn't very organized (which drives me nuts) but I guess I gotta learn to live with it. And I've learned a bunch of Mexican slang cuz he uses it a bunch which is kinda cool to be able to talk like a native. - TEACHING I don't know why, but for whatever reason, our teaching has just clicked. Like we don't have to look at each other or say anything and we can teach so smoothly. Elder Guzman is a really good teacher so it's so cool to learn how to teach that well. But our lessons have been so good this week cuz for whatever reason, we teach super well together. - FOOD This week was a huge accomplishment — I ate my first meal without any sort of tortillas. After four and a half months here,...

WEEK 24

Big shout out to my sister who finishes her mission this week and to my dad who has a birthday this week. Been a great week here in Tizayuca. Here are some of the highlights — - LESSONS Our lessons were really good this week. We had 38 lessons so that was super exhausting but also really rewarding. We got a lot of people super close to baptism. This week we wanna put 2 or 3 more people on date. - THE FOOD The food this week was weirdly good. We had pozole twice which is just a soup with a kind of meat and then some rice things and whatever else u wanna put in it. We had chilaquiles which are prolly my favorite food. It's just soggy chips with salsa and meat. And we had gorritos which are so good. Basically it's a closed taco with a bunch of meat and rice and beans and vegetables in it. I also ate chicken feet which was horrible. It tasted fantastic but there's a hundred little bones you have to get out with your mouth so that by the end you just end up swallowing all of the...

WEEK 23

Another great week. Here are some highlights — - INTERCAMBIOS We had intercambios this week again. One companionship in our district was having some problems so my comp had to go there and try to fix them. So I got a Mexican comp who knows no English for two days. It was so good though; we worked super hard and found six new people. All of them are really good too. I think we can get at least three of them baptized pretty soon. I got to lead the area and I'm assuming my comp is leaving next week so it was really good practice. - FRIDAY Friday was a super long day. We went to Pachuca to get my comp's visa renewed. He went to immigration and I just stayed at the offices. Our president's wife took me and another missionary on a ride to pick up laundry. We got lost and ended up being in the car for an hour and a half. We just talked about sports the whole time cuz our president doesn't. We also watched a bunch of sports highlights cuz our president's wife said that some...
