WEEK 16

It was another eventful week in Pachuca. Here are some of the highlights —

- TUESDAY
Tuesday we had a service project. We finished cleaning out the yard that we started a couple of weeks ago. The weeds were so much harder to pull this time so we were able to get a weed wacker and put metal springs in it. My comp was using it the whole time so I got creative and played some baseball. I found a mini bat and a tree with a bunch of small fruits. It was perfect. But then one of the sisters went all mom mode on me and got mad cuz I was being irresponsible so that kinda sucked.

- THURSDAY
Thursday was easily the hardest day of my mission. I don't know why, but it was so hard. My Spanish was so bad and I was just getting super frustrated. But at the end of the night, Tate sent me a video of our dog, Lucy, and that helped a lot.

- FRIDAY
Friday we had zone conference and it was fantastic. We got there early and helped set up. They taught exactly what I needed to hear and I actually got to teach a little bit. My Spanish was pretty good and I got to teach about the Book of Mormon which I can easily teach.

- SATURDAY
Saturday was a really good day. We had a bunch of lessons and when we were on our way to one, we saw a guy who needed help carrying something. We ended up helping him carry a bunch in for this quinceañera. They invited us to stay but we had a lesson so we went and taught the lesson and then came back to the celebration. It was so cool — everyone was staring at us cuz we were the only two white people they'd ever seen. Everyone was dancing and we got some good food — tamales and pig. It was so good. Later that night, we put a girl on date for baptism too.

- SUNDAY
Sunday was also a really good day. We had church and it was ward conference. We had a meeting with all of the leaders before church and then church was so good. Then after, we had to help the sisters set up for their baptism. I got to baptize the boy. The water was so shallow — it wasn't even up to my knees — so when I went to baptize him, I had to hold him under for a good two or three seconds to get him all the way under. It was such a cool experience. After he was baptized, all of us missionaries sang and I'm sure you can all figure out how that went.

Anyways, hope your week was as good as mine!

Tuesday service project

Some questioned my decision to wear pajama pants at the service project, but I stand by my decision. Definitely the best pants for the job.

Gotta hang with Elder Tengberg (Sawyer) since we are now in the same zone.
