WEEK 8

Another great week here in Tizayuca.  Here are some of the best parts —

- INVESTIGATORS
We have two investigators with baptism dates and almost a third. There's a little girl getting baptized on Friday and another super cool guy on September 17th. The other guy didn't go to church enough so we had to cancel his baptism date. But he showed up yesterday which means he can get a baptism date now — which is really cool. Also, the dad of the little girl getting baptized is super interested in the church. The mom and son are already members and the dad would be cuz he believes in everything. He just wants to start his own church so he won't join ours. But we'll get him to be baptized. We found 10 new people to teach last week and they're all super cool. We also found a family of 6 who might be interested — which would be really cool.

- ZONE CONFERENCE
We had zone conference on Thursday. The area authority and his wife came down and spoke. President and Sister Wright also spoke. The wives stink at Spanish so they spoke in English (not complaining). When the two men spoke, I understood and sometimes even forgot it was Spanish — which was super cool. We all had to write a talk - just in case - because some of us missionaries would be chosen to speak. Luckily, I wasn't picked. We also had a really good lunch. Just a whole bunch of meats and then tortillas — like every other meal. The area president's wife gave a really good talk about why we are here on a mission. It helped me a lot and answered some questions I had.

- THE FOOD
The food has been really good. Every lunch is always tacos and soup, and they're always so good. We had fish tacos from the Relief Society President and Elder's Quorum President. They were so good. I think I had 7, which is pretty normal cuz all the members make me eat a lot cuz they say I'm super tall. The only bad food I've had was a dessert and it had carrots, sauce and apples. I ate it cuz I had to, but I gagged a lot. Also, they told us in the CCM not to eat street food, but I've had a bunch and so far I've been fine.

- SUNDAY
We had 5 investigators come to church so that's really cool. I still can't understand the talks so I just think the whole time. After sacrament, the 2nd counselor in the bishopric came up to my companion and talked to him. We were sent to the bathroom where we found a homeless man attempting to shower, and we were in charge of getting him out. He talked to us for like 30 minutes then finally got out. He said he was trying to find the 7 true churches — the ones referred to in Revelations, but he was definitely on something.

Also, on a side note, there are so many stray dogs here and I want to cry every time I see one. But they are way smarter than dogs in America cuz they know when to cross the street and know how to steal food from people, which is so cool.

Anyways, hope your week was as great as mine!
